EAA Conformity Evidence PackAudit · Remediate · Document
This is guidance and templates, not legal advice. It helps you self-assess, fix and document your own site — it does not certify conformity or guarantee any regulatory outcome. Verify with a qualified accessibility professional and/or lawyer.
European Accessibility Act · application date 28 June 2025 (per Directive (EU) 2019/882 — confirm your market)

See where your store likely falls short of the EAA — fix it, and document that you did.

A free scanner hands you a wall of error codes. This hands you a platform-specific copy-paste fix for Shopify, WooCommerce or Webflow — and helps you generate the kind of dated conformity dossier and accessibility statement a regulator or B2B buyer may ask to see. It's guidance and templates, not legal advice — verify with a qualified professional.

The real problem

You don't need another tool that lists what's broken. You need to know how to fix it — and to be able to show you did.

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) carries an application date of 28 June 2025, with national transposition and some transition periods varying by member state — so confirm how it applies to you. For most consumer e-commerce selling into the EU, the working target is WCAG 2.1 AA. The trouble isn't finding problems. It's three things nobody hands you for free.

Scanners stop at the list

Automated tools catch only part of WCAG and dump a list of violation codes. They never tell you what to paste, or where, in your theme. You're left translating jargon into Liquid at midnight.

Some critical issues are invisible to machines

Keyboard traps, illogical focus order, meaningless alt text, broken error messages — a scanner can't judge any of them. Miss them and a "passing" scan means nothing.

"What have you done?" has no answer

When an enforcement body or a B2B buyer asks for proof of conformity, a pretty site with no records is exposed. There's no dated dossier showing what you tested, when, and how you acted.

Why this exists

Free scans on one side. Full manual audits on the other. Nothing practical in between.

The middle is exactly where a serious small operator lives — and where this pack sits.

How it works

Scan → fix → manual-test → document. The whole credible method, in one tool.

It runs entirely in your browser using the open-source axe-core engine. No account, no upload, no data leaving your machine.

01

Scan your page

Drag the bookmarklet to your live site, or paste your page source. The axe-core engine finds the machine-detectable issues in seconds.

02

Get the exact fix

Every finding is mapped to its WCAG criterion, EN 301 549 clause and EAA category — with a copy-paste fix for Shopify, WooCommerce, Webflow or raw HTML.

03

Run the manual checks

A guided checklist walks you through the keyboard, focus, alt-text and error tests automation can't judge — and captures your verdicts as evidence.

04

Generate the evidence

One click produces draft documents — an accessibility statement, a dated conformity dossier and a one-page auditor brief — from your own inputs. Print to PDF; save the whole assessment to re-open later. Have a qualified professional review them before you publish or rely on them.

What's inside

A working tool, plus the toolkit a consultant would charge you to build.

The in-browser self-assessment workbench

Bundles the axe-core engine, maps each finding to the standard, and walks you from scan to signed-off evidence pack. Works offline, nothing uploaded.

Platform-specific fix playbook

The real-world ecommerce failures — alt text, contrast, labels, link/button names, focus, landmarks, headings, iframe titles, the duplicate-ID gotcha — each with exact Liquid / WordPress / Webflow / HTML snippets. Also a sortable CSV.

The manual-test checklist

A guided pass/fail walkthrough of the issues automation cannot judge — keyboard, focus order & visibility, alt-text quality, reflow at 200%, form errors, colour use, captions, motion — captured as evidence.

The evidence generators

Draft a dated conformity dossier, a public accessibility statement (honest "partially conformant + plan" wording, never an over-claim), and a one-page "what to tell your auditor" brief — all from your inputs, for a qualified professional to review before you rely on them.

The field guide

EAA in plain English, who's in scope (incl. the micro-enterprise nuance), the top 30 failures with fixes, how to run each manual test, and a pragmatic 5-day plan to get defensible.

Honest answers

Questions worth asking before you buy

Is this legal advice or a guarantee of compliance?

No — and we're emphatic about that. This is a guided self-assessment tool and toolkit. It helps you check, fix and document your own site. It does not certify conformity, isn't an audit by a qualified professional, and isn't legal advice. For legal certainty, have a qualified accessibility professional and/or lawyer review your site and the documents this produces before you rely on them. We tell you this throughout the product, not just in the small print.

Can't a free scanner do this?

A free scanner gives you a list of violation codes — and catches only part of WCAG. It won't tell you the exact Liquid or WordPress change to make, it can't run the keyboard and focus tests that matter most, and it produces no dated record of your due diligence. This pack is built around precisely those three gaps: the platform-specific fix, the manual checks, and the evidence dossier.

Does my site data get uploaded anywhere?

No. The entire tool runs in your browser. Your page content, your answers and your generated documents stay on your machine (and in any save file you choose to download). We never receive them. The optional bookmarklet loads the scanning engine on your own page and copies the result to your clipboard — again, with no upload to us.

Which platforms are the fixes written for?

Shopify (Liquid), WooCommerce (WordPress), Webflow, and custom / hand-coded HTML. You pick your platform once and the playbook shows the right snippet for every finding. The principles apply to React and other stacks too — the HTML fixes translate directly.

Does buying this mean my store is "EAA compliant"?

No tool can promise that. What this does is move you from "no idea where I stand" to a documented, defensible position: you'll know what's broken, exactly how to fix it on your platform, and you'll have an honest accessibility statement and a dated dossier showing the steps you took. That demonstrated effort — plus a qualified review — is the credible path, not a "100% compliant" badge.

What about accessibility "overlay" widgets?

We don't use one, and we'd steer you away from relying on them. Overlays that inject a script and promise instant compliance have been widely criticised and challenged for over-claiming, and they don't fix your underlying markup. This pack helps you make real, source-level fixes and document them — which is what stands up to scrutiny.

I'm a UK business — does the EAA even apply to me?

If you sell in-scope products or listed services, including e-commerce services, to consumers in the EU/EEA, the EAA can apply regardless of where you're based — it follows the customer. The pack's field guide explains scope in plain English, including the micro-enterprise services nuance and where product-side obligations can differ. When in doubt, confirm your specific position with a qualified adviser in the relevant market.

How do refunds work?

Email us within 30 days and we'll refund you in full, no questions — and you keep every file. Checkout is handled by our merchant of record, which processes the payment, VAT and any refund. The guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
