ADA Defense KitAssess · Remediate · Document
For U.S. business websites · WCAG 2.1 AA

Know exactly where your site is exposed — fix it, and document that you did.

A free scanner hands you a wall of error codes. This hands you the prioritised fixes, the manual tests automation can't run, and a dated, good-faith Defense File your attorney and developer actually ask to see — all in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Built for owners of Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow and custom sites who keep hearing about ADA web-accessibility demand letters — and want a clear, honest answer to "where do we stand, and what do we do?"

The real problem

You don't need another tool that lists what's broken. You need to fix it — and to be able to show you did.

Web-accessibility demand letters and ADA Title III website claims are a real, ongoing pressure on U.S. businesses. The trouble isn't finding problems. It's three things nobody hands you for free.

Scanners stop at the list

Automated tools catch only part of WCAG and dump a list of violation codes. They prioritise nothing and produce no record you can hand to a developer or an attorney. You're left translating jargon at midnight.

Half the issues are invisible to machines

Keyboard traps, missing focus outlines, meaningless alt text, error messages shown in colour alone — a scanner can't judge any of them. Miss them and a "passing" scan means almost nothing.

"What have you done?" has no answer

If a demand letter lands or your own counsel asks for proof of good-faith effort, a pretty site with no records is exposed. There's no dated trail showing what you tested, when, and how you acted.

Why this exists

Free junk on one side. Overlay widgets and pricey audits on the other. Nothing in between.

The middle is where a serious small business actually lives — and where this kit sits.

How it works

Scan → manual-test → log fixes → document. The whole credible method, in one tool.

It runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no analytics, no data leaving your machine.

01

Scan your page

Paste a page's HTML (or its rendered DOM for app-built sites — the guide shows you how). Deterministic WCAG 2.1 heuristics flag the machine-detectable barriers in seconds.

02

Run the manual tests

Seven guided Pass/Fail checks for the things automation can't judge — keyboard, visible focus, alt-text quality, contrast, reflow, form errors, captions — captured as evidence.

03

Log every fix, dated

Each remediation goes into a dated log with the WCAG criterion and owner — the good-faith evidence trail counsel references.

04

Generate the documents

One click produces a developer report, an honest accessibility statement, a VPAT-style summary, and a combined dated Defense File. Print to PDF; export your data to re-open later.

What's inside

A working tool, plus the documents a consultant would charge you to produce.

The in-browser Defense-File Builder

The core tool. Runs conservative WCAG 2.1 heuristics on the page you paste, maps each finding to a real success criterion, and walks you from scan to a finished evidence file. Works offline; nothing is uploaded.

The developer remediation report

Findings in priority order (critical → serious → moderate) — each with the exact element, the problem, the fix, and a link to the official WCAG page. A ready-made work ticket for your developer or agency.

The manual-test workbench

A guided Pass/Fail walkthrough of the checks automation can't judge — keyboard operability, visible focus, alt-text quality, colour contrast, reflow at 320px, form errors, captions — captured as part of your evidence.

The evidence generators

A dated good-faith Defense File, an honest "partially conformant" accessibility statement (never an over-claim), and a plain-language VPAT-style conformance summary — all built from your own inputs, ready for your attorney, developer, and B2B buyers.

The field guide + worked example

What "good faith" means under the ADA in plain English, how to capture page source (incl. rendered HTML for app-built sites), how to run each manual test, how to brief your attorney and developer — plus a fully worked sample Defense File so you see the output before you start.

See the output before you buy

This is what you walk away with — a real, dated Defense File.

A worked example for a fictional store, exactly as the tool produces it. Notice the shape of a credible file: issues found, fixes logged with dates and owners, honest "in progress / planned" status — never a fake "100% done."

Honest answers

Questions worth asking before you buy

Is this legal advice or a guarantee of ADA compliance?

No — and we're emphatic about it. This is a guided self-assessment tool and toolkit. It helps you check, fix, and document your own site. It does not provide legal advice, does not create an attorney–client relationship, isn't an audit by a qualified professional, and does not guarantee compliance with the ADA, WCAG, or any law. For legal certainty, have a qualified accessibility professional and/or attorney review your site and the documents this produces before you rely on them. If you've already received a demand letter or lawsuit, consult an attorney before doing anything else. We say this throughout the product, not just in the small print.

Can't a free scanner do this?

A free scanner gives you a list of violation codes — and catches only part of the accessibility picture. Even high-quality automation covers only some WCAG criteria and cannot judge the real keyboard, focus, alt-text quality, reflow and error-message experience. It also will not prioritise fixes for a developer or produce a dated record of your due diligence. This kit is built around precisely those three gaps: the prioritised fix list, the manual checks, and the evidence file.

Does my site data get uploaded anywhere?

No. The entire tool runs in your browser with no network calls. Your page content, your answers, your remediation log, and your generated documents stay on your machine (and in any .json or .md file you choose to download). There's no account, no analytics, and no tracking. We never receive your data.

What about accessibility "overlay" widgets that promise instant compliance?

We don't use one, and we'd steer you away from relying on them. Overlays that inject a script and promise instant compliance have been widely criticised — and challenged — for over-claiming, and they don't fix your underlying markup. The FTC and plaintiffs have scrutinised inflated accessibility claims. Real, source-level fixes plus documented manual testing are the credible path — which is exactly what this kit helps you do.

Will buying this make my site "ADA compliant"?

No tool can promise that, and we won't. What this does is move you from "no idea where we stand" to a documented, defensible position: you'll know what's broken, how to fix it, and you'll hold an honest accessibility statement and a dated Defense File showing the steps you took. That demonstrated good-faith effort — plus a qualified human review — is the credible path, not a "100% compliant" badge.

Which platforms does it work with?

Any website. You paste the page's HTML, so it works for Shopify, WordPress/WooCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, and hand-coded sites alike. For sites built or changed by JavaScript (React, Vue, app frameworks), the guide shows you how to capture the rendered HTML via your browser's DevTools so the scan reflects what users actually experience.

How do refunds work?

Email us within 30 days and we'll refund you in full, no questions — and you keep every file. Checkout is handled by our merchant of record, which processes the payment, any tax, and any refund. The guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
